Once a lesser-known fort, Kohoj Fort has become a trekkers’ favourite. The moderately difficult climb has made it accessible to more people, I guess. At a height of about 3200 ft, Kohoj lies off Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway. Take a left from Manor, which is around 100 km from Mumbai, towards Wada to reach the base village Waghote. Little remains of this fort, which is believed to have been built during the Bhoj period. A lake and a pinnacle are the attractions on top. Climbing the pinnacle is slightly adventurous.
Nature spread the green carpet. Can we resist the temptation to walk through it?
